When is a Heavy Period too Heavy?

Periods or menstruation is a way for the body to indicate good reproductive health. Menstruation is a process where the uterus sheds its lining, the lining that was made in preparation for implantation in case of conception.

The shedding of this layer of tissues and blood is termed periods or menstruation. Some women have less blood flow during these days but some women have heavier blood loss. Very heavy periods can be a sign of a disorder often referred to as Menorrhagia.

Such women can make use of heavy-duty pads such as Rio pads for heavy flow that helps in absorbing more blood and retaining longer hours than regular sanitary napkins in the market. Blood flow that is extremely high and soaking more than one pad in an hour for several hours can be a sign of distress and needs to be evaluated by a Gynecologist. It could be a sign of Menorrhagia.
